What a commission this was! A Tripod frame to support…
Copper canopy
This amazing copper canopy was placed on a 12 ft tall Douglas fir tree. The customer designed the pergoda after felling a large Douglas fir tree in his garden, with the view to having a shelted place to sit and contemplate life.
This was a hugely enjoyable project, to be part of creating something bespoke. Working with copper was a nice change, it is soft and forgiving and different from my usual heavy steel projects. The copper was cut into segments to fit into each facet of the frame.
The erection was a challenge and involved 3 scaffold towers plus a chain hoist.
What a wonderful project!
