This amazing copper canopy was placed on a 12 ft…
What a commission this was! A Tripod frame to support a canvas structure. With a fire pit and a rocket shaped hood.
This was made for bespoke canvas structure LTD who designed the structure for a school in Kent.
This company specialise in designing bespoke canvas structures for outdoor events and I worked with Roland stokes on the structural design.
There were challenges in building this, my workshop was not tall enough so we built it outside, my kids called it The Rocket, and we had some fun wondering if it would take off during the night! We slept out in it one night which was a great distraction during lockdown.
The main aim was to take the smoke away from the fire, to get this to work effectively it needed an extractor cowel on the top of the hood.
I am working on another similar project for Swansea museum, watch this space for an update and more photographs.
