What a commission this was! A Tripod frame to support…
Owian Glyn Dwr – lord of Glyndyfrdwy (c. 1359 – c. 1415) – was a Welsh rebel who instigated a fierce and long-running yet ultimately unsuccessful war of independence with the aim of ending English rule in Wales during the Late Middle Ages
Commissioned by a client near Brecon, this Knight was chosen for his relevance to mid Wales.
He is made from steel by cutting out the profile with a plasma cutter, bashed the metal to give it shape and depth. He was beaten into shape over a leather sandbag. I added depth relief by adding on extra thickness of metal for the armour to give detail.
He is painted with Galvafroid paint.
